Rev. Sean Stanfield graduated from Westwood High School in Austin, Texas. He holds a B.A. from Tennessee State University in Professional Studies with a focus on Business, a Masters of Arts in Religion from Liberty Theological Seminary, a Masters of Religious Education from Liberty Theological Seminary, a MDiv in Pastoral Leadership from Liberty Theological Seminary and completed the UMC Course of Study through Emory University.
Pastor Sean married his wife Robin in his early twenties. He felt the call into ministry while working in the retail industry and living in Atlanta, Georgia, where he began in student ministry at Berkmar United Methodist in Lilburn, Georgia. A few years later after a move to North Georgia, he planted The Springs Community Church (A Wesleyan Church) where he served as their senior pastor for 7 years. They moved to Knoxville and he continued working in retail and also served at NorthStar Church in the Children’s ministry area. Five years later, they felt drawn back to middle Tennessee, where he began working as the children’s minister at Good Shepherd UMC. In September 2013, he was appointed to Westland UMC in Lebanon, for two years, and has had appointments with Good Shepherd UMC , Thrive Ministries, Dalewood UMC and Aldersgate UMC and Stratford Ministries since that time.
Pastor Sean’s wife, Robin is the Administrative Assistant to the DS for the Cumberland River District. They have three children: Emily, a graduate from Lee University, Christopher, a graduate from Station Camp High School with plans to go to Tennessee Applied Technology, and Lindsay who is in Middle School.
